Masquerade “Solidarity” March: I Was Assaulted By Black Bloc Thugs! (feat. Maggie Helwig!)

Tonight Toronto had a new variation of the Casseroles marches- the Masquerade Solidarity march- organized by the “Ontario Student’s Mobilization Coalition”. It sounds like something new- right? Well, not quite- it was basically another event organized by the usual suspects…

The event consisted of people from the Communist Party, International Socialists, and a small group from the cancerous infantile black bloc anarchists. People gathered in-front of OISE (Ontario Institute for Studies of Education)- a traditional gathering place for some of Toronto’s most radical organizations. Tellingly, this is where I attended my very first Occupy Toronto meeting.

Toronto’s Marxist community are a well-dressed group- particularly the crowd at International Socialist table (and, there’s always a table involved with these people- they are like Mormons with all the ‘literature’ they hand out.) A couple of them were wearing shiny new Nikes, and one with a lovely pair of Vans sneakers. Who would have thought they had such a love for brand-names!

The march began at 8pm, and the crowd headed west on Bloor street, intentionally blocking both sides of the road- despite there only being about 125 people. This was entirely unnecessary, and was only an annoyance to the public. What is wrong with these people, don’t they realize that they will never gain the public’s backing by inconveniencing them like this?

We were about 8 blocks down Bloor street when I stood on the side of the road, getting ready to film a video of the march when, unprovoked, Mark Corbiere (dressed in a ninja costume) decided he should attack me and try to grab my phone out of my hands. Mark is a criminal who was the first person arrested during the G20 marches.

Luckily, I am quite a bit taller than Mark, so he was unable to reach my phone. And, besides shoving me out of the way.  His other black bloc friends then decided to give me a special performance of the Greg Renouf black bloc chant. What a lovely surprise! Then, as their pre-pubescent hormones began to get the better of them, they were considering attacking me again. That didn’t happen though, as their girlfriends began to tell them off

The black bloc must not understand that I love them now! Every time they show-up at a Marxist mobilization march they are helping with the good fight of ensuring the Marxists don’t gain public support! This is noble work in my opinion…

You may notice a special guest joins the black bloc at the end of the video. Yep, that’s Maggie Helwig- daughter of former Poet Laureate David Helwig- the very same (confused) Anglican priest who asked me to leave the Queen’s church on-behalf of a group of people who are challenging Her Majesty’s sovereignty! I have a letter of apology from the Archbishop for that incident- will share that with you tomorrow.

I find it very interesting that this ‘woman of God’ decided to go console the violent aggressors rather than the person who was assaulted- don’t you? Who would have thought that the daughter of a poet would be someone who supports Black Bloc thugs moments after they commit a violent crime! This woman is a very confused puppy.
