Every year, right around springtime, Barrick Gold holds its Annual General Meeting at the Metro Convention Centre in downtown Toronto. With this event comes the inevitable confrontation; Barrick has been targeted by professional protesters for years. The protests are rarely peaceful, and involve protesters forcefully stopping traffic, pushing into police lines, making false accusations of police misconduct, and sometimes getting arrested.

When one imagines their child being sent on a school field trip, the last thing they’d think is that they’d be communing with convicted criminals, abusing the police, and risking arrest. But, for students of one Toronto District School Board institution, this is now a distinct possibility. At 11am on Wednesday, April 30th pupils at the Student School will be at the front-line of the fight against Barrick Gold- led by an American anarchist whose activities are closely monitored by a host of US and Canadian enforcement organizations.

Twenty-five months have passed since Your Humble Narrator began debunking Kevin Annett’s con-artistry- and, albeit slowly, the truth about his misdeeds has spread to all corners of the globe (well, over 125 countries so far). There was a time, at the height of his fraud, when Annett lived a high-flying lifestyle: Dublin, London, Amsterdam, Rome. But as time passes his opportunities get weaker by the hour. Annett announced he was to be in Europe this week, but instead, he’s found himself (literally and figuratively) in the middle of nowhere- the town of Salem, South Dakota.

While in Salem Annett hooked-up with a group of deeply religious far-right “Freeman on the Land” types. And, get this, they’ve announced the grand-opening of the “High Court” of the “Covenanted Congregationalist Charter“! The ‘court’ is based in the heart of downtown Salem at the offices of the Sovereign Love Free Church (which Google StreetView shows as a private residence).

Anyone familiar with Annett’s story will probably find that amusing on so many levels. First there’s the obvious, Salem is a one square mile village with an official population of 1,345- a town so small it’s barely worthy of a county court no less a “high court” (delusions of grandeur much?). But, much more amusing is to see Annett working with such strange bedfellows. Do they know that Annett is a Marxist? Are they aware he works with a televangelist who calls himself the Antichrist? How about Annett’s partnership with a man who says Obama secretly travelled to Mars (and promotes Satanic ideology)- would they still be working with him if they knew this?

Love Is The Movement: Joe Cressy, Elizabeth May, Linda Duncan & Parliamentary Theatre

When Olivia Chow announced herself as a candidate in Toronto’s next mayoral election she also resigned as Member of Parliament for the Trinity-Spadina riding. It didn’t take long after Chow’s announcement for things to start heating up. On March 13th Liberal Party leader Justin Trudeau stirred up controversy within his party by blocking Christine Innes’ candidacy. The next big news came eight days later when Joe Cressy announced his aspiration to run for the NDP.

Cressy is a long-term member of the NDP who has balanced his career between activism and political campaign management. He was a close friend of Jack Layton, and worked as Olivia Chow’s campaign manager during the election in 2011. In 2013 Olivia Chow produced a video of Cressy and Mike Layton (Jack’s son) canoeing in circles through rapids- a heartwarming family moment.

Researching Cressy’s career gives an interesting view of the ‘activist’ faction of the NDP, including his (and Olivia Chow’s) contributions to the re-emergence of political violence; but, we’ll cover that in a future article. For today, let’s start off by looking into Cressy’s most successful piece of political theatre- a protest inside Parliament that shows us how the ‘usual suspects’ in the activist community are actors playing for the benefit of our country’s politicians.

For the past three years, this site has been pointing out the corruption in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES), the neighbourhood that brought us the phrase “poverty pimp”. Your Humble Narrator has shown how Vancouver Coastal Health paid double the going rent for the INSITE/ONSITE injection centre; how tax dollars are being used to fund street activism at the Vancouver Area Network of Drug Users (where reports indicate that drug dealers operate on their premises); how INSITE failed during Occupy and let a young girl die; the conflict of interest of how the Atira Women’s Resource society’s leader Janice Abbott is directly funded by her husband Shane Ramsay at BC Housing; and how the W2 Media Centre was used for sadomasochist parties.

So, when it was revealed in an audit that the directors at the Portland Housing Society (PHS) used their charity’s money for luxury travel, restaurants, and spas- it really wasn’t much of a surprise. Let’s face it, we all knew this was happening (albeit, who would have guessed so blatantly!).

If there’s one value to a scandal of this magnitude, it’s that they’re perfect ways to identify who the weasels are. This month’s scandal is no exception- enter NDP MLA Jenny Kwan, and her friend Ellen Woodsworth…

International “Common Law Court” Indicts The Pope While Sitting On The Toilet! (Feat. Kevin Annett)

Kevin Annett is the Energizer bunny of online con-artists. This site has helped expose Annett’s fake discovery of a mass grave at an Indian residential school, his abuse of residential school survivors, how he forged the signature of a dead woman, how he lied about filing a case in Canadian federal court, and dozens of his other foibles. Yet, somehow, Annett has still been able to recruit new followers (albeit, not very bright ones).

If you’re ever looking for an example of how the Internet is full of gullible idiots- Kevin is your man. He’s moved on from abusing indigenous people, and has now ‘officially’ dissolved the Canadian state; indicted the Pope, Prime Minister, and a couple of RCMP officers; and single-handedly issued warrants for their arrest! And, as his latest video shows us (see above picture) he broadcasts his delusions of grandeur directly to us- while sitting on the throne of someone’s toilet!

But let’s get more serious for a moment, and ask an important question- is Annett’s “International Common Law Court” in Brussels real? If you’ve been following Annett’s antics for long now, the answer will surely amuse…

CAW (unifor) Follies Cost London Ontario Taxpayers $13,273 (Feat. The Indignants)

The above letter was posted on Facebook today by Mike Roy of The Indignants. You may remember Roy and the Indignants from last August when Ezra Levant exposed them as intellectually challenged “know nothings” during an anti-pipeline rally. Roy was part of the “truther” movement prior to Occupy- but, since then, he and the Indignants have kept most of their focus on union related issues. Well, that, and expressing their vile hatred towards the police.

The letter is a response to a freedom of information request to London police asking them to detail policing costs for the 2012 Canadian Auto Workers (now unifor) Day of Action- an event where the Canadian Labour Congress and Ontario Federation of labour invited 1000’s of people to march in support of a labour dispute between the CAW and Electro-Motive (a subsidiary of Caterpillar). The plant was being shut-down, and there wasn’t anything the CAW was going to be able to do to change that- particularly blocking traffic for the 99%.

Roy claims London police wasted $12,273 (which is actually $13,273) in an effort “for intimidating peaceful protesters”- without any evidence of how protesters were “intimidated”. But, is that what really happened here? Digging a little deeper into the situation, the real blame should be pointed elsewhere.

Introduction

Hollyhock is a New Age retreat on the southern tip of Cortes Island, BC. The resort was built by Greenpeace International co-founder Rex Weyler, a controversial figure who (along with Vancouver Observer editor and Hollyhocker Linda Solomon) has falsely claimed to be a Pulitzer Prize Nominee. No other New Age resort on earth can boast the claim of having two faux Pulitzer nominees.

Hollyhock is funded through TIDES Canada, an organization led in part by Linda Solomon’s brother Joel- both come from a family with deep roots in the US Democratic Party. Hollyhock also has deep links with municipal party VISION Vancouver- mayor Gregor Robertson is a neighbour, and was on the board of the Hollyhock Farm. In 2011 Vivian Krause exposed how TIDES’s US mothership TIDES Foundation purchased land next to the mayor’s house and designated it as park land (that sounds ethical!).

Hollyhock’s programs include a curious mix of shaman, sacred healers, yoga experts, creativity classes; and foreign funded activists who gather to make plans to influence Canadian policy. As with any place where you find fake Pulitzer nominees, sacred healers and American funded environmental activists; Hollyhock has no shortage of excrement- in fact, many of the island’s residents have complained about the retreat’s overwhelming septic system!

Spring is coming, and the 2014 season is nearly here- so, what better a time to start looking into Hollyhock’s abundant program offerings! Today is the first part of an informal series (that will be released from time to time) exploring Hollyhock’s plastic shaman. Is unifor Continuing The CAW’s Tradition Of Appropriating Indigenous Voices? (Feat. Shawn Brant)

Tragic news came this week when Loretta Saunders’ body was found dumped outside in the woods. Saunders is a Inuk woman who was writing her thesis on missing and murdered indigenous women at St Mary’s University in Halifax. Police have charged Victoria Henneberry and Blake Leggette with her murder- both sublet Saunder’s apartment after she moved in with her boyfriend. Saunders was reported to have been both pregnant, and on methadone.

Whenever there’s a tragedy to be exploited, there’ll inevitably be a steeple chase of politicians, ambulance chasers and militant unions fighting over who gets to catch the ball. Of course, today’s story is no different, Saunder’s family haven’t had time to bury their daughter and Canada’s newest militant union unifor has already issued a press release and calling for an investigation into missing and murdered indigenous women.

There’s nothing wrong with unifor writing a presser, if it’s genuine of course- but, to use the tragic death of a young woman for political purposes would be distasteful, to say the least…

7 Reasons The NDP Is Creepier Than You Think (Feat. Mulcair, Davies (x2), Eby & Layton)

NDP anarchist front group Shit Harper Did (SHD) launched a dirty tricks campaign against the Conservative government recently, going all Stephanie Guthrie on their ass labelling them as ‘creepy’. So far most of the content hasn’t proven the Cons are creepy (the above cookie is one example), but they do provide 7 pages that show the reader the word creep or creepy 15 times. It’s a kind of subliminal advertising.

It would be easy to turn this around and talk about all the ways SHD is creepy. One could start with spokesperson Brigette DePape’s well practised plasticine smile. Or, on a more serious note, it’s incredibly creepy how Harsha Walia, one of Canada’s most prominent promoters of political violence, is on their board of directors. It’s also rather creepy to see how close they are with the people who’ve hijacked Idle No More from its founders.

Instead, Your Humble Narrator has decided to turn the article around and give seven examples of how the NDP is creepier than you think (while mentioning the word ‘creep’ or ‘creepy’ 58 times, let’s see if SHD can beat that!).

If you’ve been watching the media lately (and not totally immersed in the Olympics), you may have noticed there’s been a revolution in the Ukraine. It’s the same game that’s been in-play for some time now- a proxy street war between Russia and the West over the spoils of this severely depressed and poverty-stricken country. There are allegations that the West is supporting neo-Nazis to achieve their goal.

Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebelles said “if you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it”. This is very true, people are all too often like sheep. But effective propaganda isn’t always based on ‘big’ lies, sometimes it’s the little details that count, sometimes, all you have to do is to creatively mistranslate someone’s words…
