GE-Hitachi: University of Toronto Professor Jim Deutsch Defends G20 Anarchists! (feat. Zach Ruiter)

Dr. Jim Deutsche- Part of the problem, or part of the solution?

I see a lot of disturbing videos in my research. Today I saw one of the more disturbing videos I’ve seen in a while- it’s always a challenge observing people in positions of power supporting violent anarchists. The first time I saw this phenomenon it blew my mind- how could Vancouver’s David Eby, a candidate for MLA even conceive it was a good idea to not report what he knew before the violence at the 2010 Olympics?

I’ve seen many more since then. There’s  Ryerson professor Judy Rebick, who spends more time supporting Canada’s pro-violence anarchists than most any of their high-profile supporters. York professor David McNally is in so deep with the anarchists that he credited many of them in one of his books. There are high-profile organizations supporting the anarchists too- CUPE, the Council of Canadians, the Ontario Federation of Labour, and the CAW come to mind. And, there are publications like NOW Toronto and the Toronto Star…

Somehow, in Canada, these high-profile people and organizations have been able to get away with assisting violent anarchists. Well, today, we introduce a new high-profile anarchist apologist- Dr. Jim Deutsche from the University of Toronto. He’s a radical, involved with several local activist groups and has previously given anti-Israeli speeches.

Today I found a video posted by Zach Ruiter- the anarchist who has been leading the demonstrations against West Toronto’s GE-Hitachi uranium processing plant. Deutsch made some great arguments about potential health issues due to the plant- he was doing an excellent job until the end of the video. Then, he gets all apologetic for the Black Bloc damage at the G20- trying to deflect the attention Ruiter’s had due to his anarchist comrades & tactics.

The problem is that what he said was totally transparent. He was standing beside Ruiter, the guy who made a film defending one of vandals at the G20- it was that infamous video where Sakura Saunders said “all he did was kick the door of a cop car!”

This was a massive fail on the part of Dr Deutsch. It also further exposes the problems at the University of Toronto. You see, many of the city’s anarchists are there- particularly those involved with the CUPE 3902. In fact, the UofT’s Heart House Graduate Student Union building is a major meeting place for the anarchists. Let’s not forget the problems at the UofT’s OISE teacher’s college.

Deutsche needs to take a good look inside himself and realize that he’s supporting people who have been terrorizing our city- he needs to stop. It astounds me to see someone being paid out of the government purse supporting this kind of nonsense. If ever there were an argument against tenure, it’s this guy.

Here’s the video…

Citizens!!! Be awfaid..be vewwy vewwy afwaid! LOL!! I need to see this in it’s full context. May I have the link to the original interview, please.
Let’s see now…according to this blac bloc video, the solution to a police state is to smash corporate box stores and cop cars? Yep, that should do it…or NOT!
Wouldn’t violent action actually reinforce the city’s argument for beefing up the police force? Who’s side are these scholarly morons on anyway? I hope that professor deutchland doesn’t teach history because he’s certainly not sharing any valuable new insight’s on the subject. Same old, same old. *sigh*

    1. Yep, this nutty professor really puts the nut into nutty! Here’s the link to the original video:

CUPE 3903 is not at U of T, Greg, they’re at York.

    1. Thanks for the correction. I got the two mixed up- they’re similar in more ways than just their name…

He is incredibly ignorant or incredibly mendacious. “Citizen” is not a scientific category. There is no objective experiment to test for citizenship, is there? Classically, as in Aristotle, etc. it is acknowledged that citizens are made, not born. So we have some amazing doublethink. On the one hand people are to be scientific, but on the other hand they are to consider themselves citizens?

This sort of contradictory doublethink is very common for University people. Also, the suggestion that we should be terrified is obscene. Fear never leads to appropriate decision-making. Terror will not help anyone make the appropriate decision. It does, however, make them easy to manipulate by hierarchical organizations that will offer them a solution to their terror.

Fear mongering worked well for Bush, Cheney and Rove. Helped keep the government money flowing to the military industrial complex. Why wouldn’t CUPE give it a try. So what is this guy a professor of? Pekka Sinervo is a U of T professor of physics:

Sinervo lives in the area and says there is nothing to worry about. Is Jim Deutsch also an expert on nuclear safety?

    1. Jim Deutsch is just another radical (JAR). He’s deep in with the anarchists, and a rabid hater. So, we should take what he has to say with scepticism…
